Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare Book Review | OMG THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER

Yes I did make that stele out of a pencil, hot glue and nail polish.

*royally flails around the room* WHERE DO I EVEN START? This book was so fantastic and beautiful and pretty and gorgeous and amazing and...and...*Searches for words to describe Lady Midnight* I CAN'T EVEN ASDFGHJKL. I laughed out loud(literally) so many times that my family probably thinks that I'm insane.

This was by far Cassandra Clare's best book. You can tell how much her writing and plot and everything else related to writing books, has improved since City of Bones(which is still my favorite Shadowhunter book EVER, probably because I have such wonderful memories reading it.) So I guess I love City of Bones just 1% more than Lady Midnight. The characters were fully fleshed out and they all seemed so real! My favorite character was by far Mark. *hugs him* NOW LET ME LIST ALL THE THINGS I LOVE.

ALL THE THINGS THAT (LITERALLY) MADE ME SQUEAL AND JUMP AROUND MY ROOM AND GRIN LIKE AN IDIOT(I'M NOT JOKING)

 - The short story at the back of the book. When Jace * WARNING: THERE ARE SPOILERS AHEAD*
proposes to Clary, I screamed, danced around my room, out the door and into the kitchen, where I proceeded to jump up and down, shrieking "MY SHIP IS GETTING MARRIED, MY SHIP IS GETTING MARRIED, MY SHIP IS GETTING MARRIED!" Someone please tell me this is a normal reaction to have. ALSO SIZZY. #IAMSHIPPINGALLTHESHIPSRIGHTNOW

- The story. Now I was sort of expecting it to feel old, a rehash of the other books. BUT I WAS SO PLEASENTLY SUPRISED. The story feels so new and fresh! The humour was new, the story was new, the characters were all basically new. Mark was my favorite.

-I ADORED the sensitive way Ty's autism was shown. Cassandra Clare is the Queen of depicting people's differences in sensitive, positive ways that are true to life.

- Big families were shown in such a positive, happy way, that my poor fangirly heart almost exploded. Coming from a very large family myself (I have 7 siblings) I see all to often big families getting bashed in books. But Cassandra Clare doesn't do that. She shows how awesome and fun and amazing being part of a large family can be, and I really, really, from the bottom of my heart, appreciated that.

- All the secondary characters had parts to play. They were all important, and I loved every single one of them. I was also extremely pleased that Church(the cat) was there. I heart Church. When I get a cat one day, the cat will be called Church. Christina was awesome. Did I already mention that Mark is the best character and that I adore him?

- All the snarky, sarcastic, sassy, wonderful humour.

CONS(This isn't really a con because this book was perfect, but I couldn't put this under things I love because I'm 99% sure that all the other Shadowhunter fans are going to murder me, so yeah)

-IS IT WEIRD THAT I SHIP EMMA AND MARK AND NOT EMMA AND JULIAN? *hides in shame* I SHALL GO DOWN WITH THIS SHIP.

Anyway, Lady Midnight was the best thing ever, and I can't wait for the next book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have you guys read Lady Midnight? If so, did you love it?! Or have you not read it yet?(in which case, what is your life, get off the internet and go read it)

The Only Thing Worse Than Me Is You by Lily Anderson | WARNING: THE FOLLOWING REVIEW IS FULL OF RAVING AND FANGIRLING AND FEELS

I received a digital copy of The Only Thing Worse Than Me Is You from the publisher in exchange for a review. This does not affect my opinion.

Trixie Watson has two very important goals for senior year: to finally save enough to buy the set of Doctor Who figurines at the local comic books store, and to place third in her class and knock Ben West--and his horrendous new mustache that he spent all summer growing--down to number four.

Trixie will do anything to get her name ranked over Ben's, including give up sleep and comic books--well, maybe not comic books--but definitely sleep. After all, the war of Watson v. West is as vicious as the Doctor v. Daleks and Browncoats v. Alliance combined, and it goes all the way back to the infamous monkey bars incident in the first grade. Over a decade later, it's time to declare a champion once and for all.

The war is Trixie's for the winning, until her best friend starts dating Ben's best friend and the two are unceremoniously dumped together and told to play nice. Finding common ground is odious and tooth-pullingly-painful, but Trixie and Ben's cautious truce slowly transforms into a fandom-based tentative friendship. When Trixie's best friend gets expelled for cheating and Trixie cries foul play, however, they have to choose who to believe and which side they're on--and they might not pick the same side.

The Only Thing Worse Than Me Is You by Lily Anderson comes out May 17, 2016.

*takes a deep breath* I CAN'T BEGIN TO SHRIEK HOW MUCH I ADORE THIS BOOK!This is by far one of the best books I've read this year.
Basically this book can be described as:
Much Ado About Nothing + fandom + mystery + amazing writing + fantastic, relatable characters = The Only Thing Worse Than Me Is You

The dialogue amazing. Just read these quotes, and you'll understand.
[7:43 PM]
Me
Dad is trying to convince us to change our last name to Cumberbatch.
[7:47 PM]
Harper
Are you guys watching the BBC Sherlock again?
[7:53 PM]
Me
Don’t judge us. The Cumberbatches are a proud people.

If that doesn't convince you to read it, I don't know what will. Trixie Watson is my spirit animal, mostly because we're both die-hard Marvel fans.
This book was filled with things I love: fandom references, two people who hate each other and then end up falling in love, a nice little mystery, comic books, and overall tons of wonderful nerdy-ness that made my fangirl heart swell 10 sizes. I was grinning like an idiot the whole time I was reading it. I couldn't help it. I also laughed out loud(literally) to many times to count. If you are in a reading slump, and want something light hearted and fantastic, this book is for you. Or you know, if you are a reader of any kind, you should read it.
Also you should probably know that Ben and Trixie are OTP status, because they are absolutely perfect together. Obviously.
This book was definitely a 5/5 star book for me. GO FORTH AND READ IT, MY CREAMPUFFS.
HAVE YOU READ THIS BOOK? ARE YOU EXCITED FOR IT? ARE YOU GOING TO READ IT NOW, AFTER HAVING READ THIS REVIEW? TELL ME BELOW. I MUST KNOW ALL THE THINGS.

My Top Seven Most Underrated Music Artists

I always get annoyed when I talk about an artist that I love, and the other person doesn't know who they are. Like, WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR LIFE. YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO THEM! So today I though, why not share with all you lovely creampuffs my top 7 most underrated artists.

1) Hailey Gardiner.
One of the Gardiner Sisters, last year she did a solo EP, called The Woods. Sadly it only has three songs on it. My personal favorite is Neverland.

2) Amy Lee.
Amy Lee is a goddess. We all know that. She's the lead singer of my favorite band, Evanescence. She has been doing some solo stuff too, mainly her soundtrack for the movie War Story, Recover Vo. 1 and Speak To Me (the ending credits song for the indie film Voice From The Stone) Apparently she's working on a solo album for children. I'M SO EXCITED. My favorite songs from her are Lockdown, her covers of Going to California and Baby Did a Bad, Bad Thing.

3) The Gardiner Sisters.
Their an acoustic band of sisters, and OMGS THEIR MUSIC IS AMAZING. My favorite songs are L.O.V.E, Make You Love Me, and If You Were Mine.

4) Elysion.
Imagine if Evanescence and Apocalyptica spawned a band..........Elysion would be the result. They are a small goth rock band from Greece, and you can hear the influences of Greek cultural music in their stuff, which is super cool, since I love Greek cultural music. My favorite songs are Killing My Dreams, Erace Me, and Made of Lies.

5) Ruelle.
She's sounds like Lorde, or Halsey, or Melanie Martinez. I can't decide. She's gained some popularity this year, due to the fact that the Shadowhunters TV show has been featuring her music. My favorite song is Monsters.

6) Red.
Not sure what genre to call this band.......maybe symphonic metal? Anyway, they are AMAZING. My favorite song is Let It Burn(which is a far better song than Let It Go)

7) Thousand Foot Krutch.
Again, not sure what genre this band is. But they are fantastic. My favorite songs are We Are and Fly On The Wall.

And that's it! Go forth and listen to these wonderful music artists/bands. You won't regret it :D

Hello my creampuffs. Welcome to Writerly Ramblings, where I talk about......writing. Basically I'm going to be updating you on all the writing projects.

Gearbound: So remember I said the first chapter would be up on Wattpad early summer? I decided that since I'm a quarter of a way through, that I might as well put it up on Wattpad this Friday. I will be uploading a new chapter every Friday.
BUT MIRONIEL, you say, I THOUGHT YOU WANTED TO FINISH THE STORY BEFORE YOU PUT IT OUT INTO THE WORLD. REMEBER HOW AWFUL YOU WERE AT UPLOADING CHAPTERS OF YOUR FANFIC?
Yes, I do remember. I remember all to well *starts singing the TSwift song* AHEM. The thing was, I didn't have a schedule for the fanfic. I work better when I have deadlines, so having a deadline will make sure that I'm consistent. Besides, I have you guys to keep me accountable!
I can't wait for ya'll to read the story and take the journey to Gearbound Academy for Inventors, Scientists and Villains.

Bumble Bee: HERE ARE TWO LOVELY SNIPPETS FOR YOU WONDERFUL CREAMPUFFS.

Ren: The Girl With The Mark | Episode 5(Season 1 Finale) Review

This show has destroyed my feelings for ever. *sobs forever.* SEASON TWO MUST HAPPEN. I WILL DIE IF IT DOESN'T.

This has been such a fantastic show. Since this is the last episode, I can't really say much without spoiling ya'll, but I will say this episode was amazing! SO MUCH HEART PAIN WATCHING IT. The sets were still as good, the acting phenomenal.
I give this episode an A++.
OH AND CAN I HAVE A SOUNDTRACK ALREADY ZEUS DARN IT.
If you haven't watched episode five yet, go watch it, and then we can discuss it!

OKAY SO WHY DID DAGRON HAVE TO DIE? I MEAN, I DIDN'T LIKE HIM, BECAUSE HE DID DO SOME STUPID THINGS, BUT HAVING TO WATCH REN AND BAYNON SAY GOODBYE TO HIM WAS TOO MUCH. THAT WAS NOT OKAY. I WAS CRYING.
Ren kicked butt, and Sophie Skelton did an amazing job playing her.
My favorite part was when Ren used her powers to destroy the Kah'Nath soldiers who were going to kill her brother.
AND SPEAKING OF THE KAH'NATH, THEY ARE SICK. THEY WERE GOING TO BURN HER LITTLE BROTHER BECAUSE HE SPOKE UP FOR HER.
AND THEN WE GOT A CLIFFHANGER, JUST AS REN WAS ESCAPING FROM THE VILLAGE. ARGHHH
Also Karn was soo awesome XD He's my favorite character by far.

Anyway, those were my thoughts and feels on the season finale of Ren: The Girl With The Mark.
WHAT DID YOU GUYS THINK OF IT?

In Which I Spill Everything There Is To Know(so far) About My Anti-hero Story, Bumble Bee.

So lately I've been talking about my anti-hero story, Bumble Bee. (NOT THE TRANSFORMER.) And I've been feeling the need to scream about it to the world on the top of my lungs. HERE WE GO.

THE-SUMMARY-THING-THAT-EVERYBODY-DOES:

Setting: 2019, Toronto, and other places in the world.

Inspiration: Deadpool, Black Widow.

Story: We start off with Bee telling us about her escape from a high security prison in Mexico, which leads up to her meeting an American mec/heist/assassin called Red in a Tim Hortons in down-town Toronto. They have a fight, but are perfectly matched in strength and abilities, she calls a truce and asks what he wants. Turns out he was hired by the I.C.O.(International Crime Organization. Most crime lords and everybody in the underworld are part of it, or have connections to it. It organizes and funds a lot of the crime that goes on in the world.) to track her down and convince her to sign on for a major mission. They're creating a team of the world's best mercenaries for the mission, and she'll represent Canada. She agrees, because it sounds like fun, and besides, they're offering a lot of money, and she could use that money. Because she's broke. Thing is, she doesn't realize what exactly it is she's getting herself into.

Main character: Finn, an 18 year old mercenary heist assassin who lives in Toronto and calls herself Bumble Bee. She's nicknamed Bee by those who know her. She's kinda psychopathic, doing things that have even shocked me. But she's not really crazy, she's just really messed up If you got in her way, she'd kill you without even blinking. Not the kind of person you'd want for a best friend, eh? She's also really sarcastic.

Appearance: Height: 5'6. Copper eyes(she wears yellow contacts when in she's Bumble Bee) To keep in line with the Bumble Bee theme, she cut her hair short(like a short bob type of hair cut)and then shaved on side of it and then dyed the long side yellow(her real hair color is black. Big black eyebrows. Small mouth. Extremely fit.

Clothes/Gear/Weapons: Again, she wears only the colors black and yellow: yellow tank top, black leather pants, black combat boots with yellow laces, black finger less gloves. Her primary weapon is a whip, but she can use any weapon to it's fullest potential for death. She herself is actually a weapon, having been trained in every known form of martial arts from the age of 6. She wears spiked knuckle dusters. When the occasion calls for it though, she'll disguise herself.

Back story: She was abandoned by her parents on the streets of Toronto when she was 4. However, she could care less about her parents. She's messed up because she's never been loved, and it's scientifically proven that children who aren't loved and never get hugs and stuff grow up to be really messed up. She was found by a major crime lord, who took her in , after being impressed at how spunky she was. He raised her, and taught her everything she knows about weapons and killing and stealing. He was killed in a gun fight when she was 16, and ever since has provided for herself by being a mercenary.

Best Line: "Oh but darling, we're all insane."

NOW FOR THE INTERESTING QUESTIONS:

Would she kill anyone, no matter who they were?
*cackles* Oh yes, she would. To her, that person is a obstacle that needs to be removed, and no more. She literally has no feelings.
Rest of the world to Bee:

                                                                     Bee's response:

Does she ever find her feelings?
Yes she does. She falls in love with Red, only she's super confused, because she's never loved anyone before, or had anyone love her. So all those feelings that she has for him don't make sense to her. It's frankly heart breaking and adorable at the same time.

Her favorite song?
Definitly Monsters by Ruelle. It describes Bee perfectly.

Would she drink coffee or tea?
Coffee, duh. She drinks it black. #hardcore

And that, my friends, is my anti-hero story.

What did you think? Are you writing an anti-hero story? TELL ME. I NEED TO KNOW ALL THE THINGS.

March Wrap Up | 2016

I am enormously pleased to shriek announce that I had a delightful reading month. All the books were 3 stars or above. And lots of fandom-ish things happened. LET'S RECOUNT ALL THE THINGS.

1) Artemis Fowl: The Opal Deception by Eoin Colfer. The Artemis Fowl series is absolutely amazing, and this book was no exception! I did a review for it HERE. 5/5 stars.

2) Sea of Shadows of Kelley Armstrong. This was a very confusing book. I liked it, but I didn't like it at the same time. It has a gorgeous cover, though. 3/5 stars.

3)  Blood Red Road by Moira Young. ARGHHHH THIS WAS SUCH AN AMAZING BOOK. AMAZING. 5/5 stars

4) Artemis Fowl: The Lost Colony by Eoin Colfer. Again, it was amazing. 5/5 stars.

5) Ranger's Apprentice: The Kings of Clonmel by John Flanagan. Not the best in the series, but it was still good. 5/5 stars.

6) The Wee Free Men by Terry Pratchett. It's been such a long time since I've read a Terry Pratchett book, that I'd forgotten how TOTALLY AWESOME his books are. I loved this book so much, it's  my favorite out of ALL his books now.  1,000,000 5/5 stars.

7) Artemis Fowl: The Time Paradox by Eoin Colfer. It's Artemis Fowl. Need I say more?! 5/5 stars.

8)  ttyl by Lauren Myracle. I loved this book! I loved the unique instant messaging format, and while the story itself was nothing very special, I really related to and understood the characters. Will definitely be picking up the next book! 4/5 stars

9) Graceling by Kristin Cashore. ARGH WHAT A FANTASTIC BOOK. 5/5 STARS.

WRITING UPDATES:

Sci-fi novel: For the last 2 years I've put everything I had into writing this book, and now I'm stuck editing it. Like, I've hit a brick wall. So I'm giving it a rest, and focusing more on blogging, Gearbound and my anti-hero story.

Gearbound: It's going really well! I hope to start putting it on Wattpad sometime in August. I keep wanting to talk about Gearbound Academy(like the actual school) It's so cool, but I want it to be a surprise, which means I can't tell you anything about it at all.

Anti-hero story: ARGH I LOVE THIS STORY SO MUCH! I will do a whole post dedicated to it, because I'm so tired right now that I can't explain it :P

FANDOM NEWS
